Madeira on Google Maps.
Situated in a small archipelago just 500 kilometers from the African coast composed of 8 islands of which only 2 are inhabited, the island of Madeira is famous for its climate: in Madeira it is always spring, say the islanders. With a verdant side, the northern side hit by the trade winds that bring the humidity taken from the Atlantic Ocean and a rugged and rocky side largely composed of volcanic rock, the island is a popular tourist destination for trekking and nature enthusiasts wild but also for its uncrowded beaches. Dozens of kilometers of paths cross the island in particular the "levades" the ancient irrigation channels are a suggestive way to visit the most hidden corners of the island of Madeira. Excellent wine is also produced on the island to be tasted in one of the many wine cellars in the capital Funchal. Interesting to visit the botanical garden with its particular flowering plants and the plays of color that skilled gardeners compose among the narrow streets of the botanical garden. An island to be enjoyed at a slow place for tourism dedicated to sport and the discovery of a particular island.
