Mount Chaberton on Google Maps.
On the summit of Mount Chaberton, at 3,131 m above sea level, there is one of the historic fortifications present in the upper Susa valley. Italian until 1947 became French after the Second World War, this fortress with its towers dominates the entire Susa valley and the Briancon valley. There are several itineraries to reach the summit of Mount Chaberton but the reporters of World Travel Reportage have traveled a particular itinerary that from Bardonecchia climbs to Colle della Scala and from there climb up to Col des Acle and then reach the mountains above Monginevro. A trek that requires, to fully enjoy it, a night in a tent at the base of Mount Chaberton to tackle the long climb that runs along the great stony ground that distinguishes this mountain. The thrill of reaching the summit, visiting the remains of the fortress and observing the splendid 360 ° panorama of the Alps is one of the unforgettable memories of this trek.
