By: Carlo Piccinelli

The Mont Blanc Train on Google Maps.
The Mont Blanc tramway in the Haute-Savoie department, it is the only railway in France reaching over 2,000 metres above sea level. The line runs from a connection with the SNCF at Saint-Gervais-les-Bains Le Fayet station (580 mt not far from Chamonix) to the Nid d'Aigle station near the Bionnassay Glacier at an altitude of 2,372 mt but during the winter season the tram stop is Bellevue station (1794 mt). Over 12 kilometers long, the tourist line of the Mont Blanc Tram, so called because the initial stretch of the route runs through the alpine village streets of Saint Gervais, attracts tourists from all over the world to reach the base of the Mont Blanc massif in few hours. A mountain which with its 4810 mt of altitude is the highest mountain in Europe. A short but intense journey to observe a constantly changing landscape kilometer after kilometer.
