La Mongie is one of the most important ski resorts in the French Pyrenees. Its facilities cover the slopes of the Tourmalet Pass, famous to be one of the most demanding stages of the Tour de France that in winter becomes a destination for skiers and mountain lovers.Thanks to numerous ski facilities, from ski lifts to chairlifts to the cableway of the Pic du Midi de Bigorre, it is possible to ski on any slope from easy to difficult, always with the splendid panorama of the Pyrenees in front. Both in the town of La Mongie and in the nearby village of Bagnères there are restaurants where you can taste typical dishes of the region, hotels and SPA where you can spend relaxing hours. A particular destination for ski enthusiasts with well-groomed slopes but also with beautiful off-piste slopes. Do not miss the ascent with a double gondola lift to the top of the Pic du Midi de Bigorre at 2.877 m where there is an important astronomical observation station with several telescopes that scan the sky, the moon and the sun.
