Grande Terre on Google Maps
The south lagoon of Grande Terre island in New Caledonia, is one of the largest lagoons in the world and classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This large lagoon, generated by a coral reef that is tens of kilometers away from the coast, is navigable and is exploited by the nautical tourism for charter hire for cruises and dive centers that accompany tourists in scuba diving on the beautiful reef. One of the most popular places in the lagoon of Noumea, is the island with the lighthouse Amedée, a more than 50 m high lighthouse that offers the possibility climbing up to the balcony of the optical unit, to admire the view of the lagoon. An unforgettable view to the tourists who visit this great austral archipelago.
