Italy - Curiosity - Back to index

Sulcis Iglesiente on Google Maps.
Sulcis Iglesiente is the southwestern part of Sardinia island in Italy. Once site of numerous coal mines and other minerals, today it is one of the new international tourist destinations. The visit of Buggerru mines with the coastal walk that reveals the high pinnacles that rise tens of meters from the seabed, the incredible loading point of minerals on the ships with caves dug into the cliffs of Porto Flavia in front of the Pan di Zucchero rock cliff or Carbonia coal mine museum are the main destinations for getting to know the mining history of the region, all softened by fine sandy beaches that border the bays bathed by a crystal clear sea. If then all these sites are on board a Bugatti car, the journey becomes history. Bugatti is a historic brand of world motoring and following a vintage car rally Bugatti becomes a further possibility to discover, aboard a legend, the splendid territory of Sulcis Iglesiente and its historical, naturalistic and gastronomic treasures.
