The gold triangle on Google Maps.
The golden triangle in the state of Victoria, has historically included the cities of Ballarat, Bendigo and Ararat. Many are the stories that speak about that area as the discovery in 1858 of a gold nugget of tens pounds and exposed (a copy of course), in the city of Ballarat. A Sovereing Hill, a little village where are the ancient gold mines still actives, has been created a village that reproduces the life, customs and architecture of the late nineteenth when settled the first gold prospectors. Today, instead of the sieve and water, new gold prospectors using metal detectors that can be also rented for an unforgettable journey. A few days as gold prospector in the bush, it's worth trying if you think that in 2013, an occasional prospector found a nugget weighing 5.5 kg estimated $ 300,000. A trip certainly unusual but that could turn into a truly unforgettable trip.
