Amalfitana Coastal Road on Google Maps.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997, the coastal road passes through famous villages and towns such as Amalfi, Maiori, Positano, Ravello, and Vietri. As early as the 18th century, the road was renowned and traveled by aristocrats, kings, and queens visiting the Campania region, which overlooks the Tyrrhenian Sea. At times narrow and winding, the road hugs the coastline for a stretch of approximately 25 kilometers, yet it encompasses a wealth of attractions: Amalfi and its cathedral, the picturesque historic center of Positano, Ravello with its ancient villas, Vietri famous for its ceramics. However, it is not only the nature, beaches, cliffs, and seaside villages that draw tourists; there are also the traditional local culinary products such as Cetara anchovies, lemon ice cream and the famous Amalfi Limoncello along with the aromas and flavors of licorice, cloves, nutmeg and calamint that enrich the pasta, pizza, meat, fish and desserts that can be enjoyed along of one of Italy's most beautiful coastal roads.
