Carlo Farina: writer, photographer and traveler plays with lights and shadows in his new project: "The Black Rainbow". Born in Naples, he lives in Rome but for most of the year, he is in traveling between the seas and oceans round the world. Eclectic character, as can be seen by reading the captions of his images, he is constantly looking for new photographic ideas related to the sea, its colors and its inhabitants. Here's what Carlo Farina sai when I asked to him how he works underwater: < I started doing underwater photography in the digital age because I can delete photos horrendous directly during decompression without anyone seeing them and I don't make any post production because it is tiring. > For his work, Carlo Farina uses two underwater cameras and two flashes that rapidly changing depending on the subject to be photographed under the water. The Black Rainbow project, is to photograph with diaphragms very closed and flash fast and powerful positioning often opposed to the subjects to researching the silhouette effect.

Thanks to Carlo Farina for sending us some of his latest photographs and some shorts of the "Black Rainbow" project.
