In Govone, a small village on the Roero hills halfway between Asti and Alba cities, every year, in addition to the traditional Christmas markets, there is also the meeting of children with Santa Claus in the halls of the ancient castle. A very ancient tradition so much so that once the children also left Turin by steam train and after an unforgettable journey they arrived in the presence of Santa Claus in person who listened to their wishes. Today at the castle of Govone you arrive by car, the steam train is no longer there but the charm of the event is the same. Inside the halls of the castle you can see the exhibition of nativity scenes, environments that recall the cold areas where Santa Claus lives, traditional shows and many other events that can only be discovered visiting the Govone markets.
